Is It The End??

A Blood Moon is set to occur on the night of July 27, 2018. It will be noticeable in the Eastern Hemisphere, most notably in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America. Many have speculated that this will usher in, what the bible refers to as, Armageddon. All it takes is a click of the computer mouse to read article after article relating to this topic.

What is a Blood Moon? Timeanddate.com refers to a Blood Moon as "not a scientific term, though in recent times it is being widely used to refer to a total lunar eclipse because a fully eclipsed Moon often takes on a reddish color." More precisely, it is the shadow of the earth that falls on the moon when the sun, earth, and moon are lined up in the galaxy. This happens only when there is a full moon, and occurs fairly regularly.

Yes, tetrads do happen.

"The phrase 'Lunar Tetrad' describes the occurrence of four total eclipses in a row. These tetrads are rare, and according to NASA, the century of 2001 to 2100 contains a total of eight" (Reference.com).

Should everyone go look and witness the Blood Moon? Absolutely! Especially if you are a science or astronomy "geek" (as my daughter will fully admit that she is). Does this Blood Moon hold biblical significance? Read on ...

Now I am not a scientist, nor am I a prophet, but I do know a couple things. Armageddon is said to occur in Israel. I have been to the actual place where people speculate it will occur. This occurrence is talked about many times in the bible (see Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20, Revelations 6:12). This would lead me to believe the great "Blood Moon" the bible speaks about would be seen intensely over Israel.

The passages also talk about a great trembling or a great earthquake and falling stars. Again, each biblical figure is talking to the people of Israel. Although the world will undoubtedly witness the fruition of the scriptures, I cannot begin to speculate here what my firm beliefs are on this prophesy. I do believe it will be made clear, to those who follow Jesus, when the prophesy is actively being fulfilled.

I also know that in Matthew it says, "about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." It is going to happen. This is all we undoubtedly know. We hear all kinds of speculation, but it I don't think it's wise to "put all our eggs" in the "baskets" of men, if you will.

We will/do have signs, but no man will know when Jesus is to return. I think it is pretty unwise to say "the world will end on ____ day". If we believe and have faith in the bible, NOBODY will know the exact day we will get to see the face of Jesus.

So are the events of July 27 going to usher in the end of the world? Probably not; not unless several other things occur relatively close in proximity on the Heavenly Timeline. Could the end of the world occur? Sure. We have no idea what God has "up His sleeve." We do know Our Lord is good ALL OF THE TIME. Everything is going to happen in His time, and the end of the story is ultimately wonderful.

What can you do instead of worrying about whether the world is going to end on a certain date? Love people. Show the love of God to your neighbors. Show them the way to Jesus. In my opinion, don't "cram it down their throats," but show them the way. Lead with a loving heart.

The ultimate commandment:

"Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment." - Matthew 22:37-38

The second half of that commandment:

"... is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ - Matthew 22:39

Set your mind on these things. Don't listen to hearsay about July 27. Your ultimate goal is to Love God and Love People.
