Thoughts and Insights on Spiritual Warfare Compiled and Expanded

Postby Charles-and-Ness » April 2nd, 2009, 1:40 pm

Hello All!!!

I've been thinking lately about compiling some thoughts, insights, and revelations about spiritual warfare here.  Over the next few weeks and months I would like to pull together insights that I've had, and if others have also had insights or profound revelations about spiritual warfare, then please feel free to comment and add on posts.

Most Sincerely,

Here's the first compiled thougt on spiritual warfare:  THERE'S POWER IN PRAISE!

Several years ago when I was singing in our church choir I was watching the congregation, and God gave me a revelation and a vision.  I was watching my friends worshiping God, and God showed me the color of praise!  He said, "This is the color of purest praise" and I saw a vision of a bowl before the thrown of God and from the bowl was rising a steady unbroken stream of incense, but it was like nothing I had ever seen before!  It was the most lovely purest Golden color--but it wasn't just the color of gold, it had for a better choice of words,  a pure "essence."  It glowed. It radiated energy and power.  It was like highly controlled incense, raising upwards in a steady stream.  It was full of energy and glowed purest gold.  It had form and volume and weight and radiated brilliant golden light while it rose from the bowl.  I instantly realized that it also had a lovely scent as well as color and volume.  I assume it also had a lovely sound, but I didn't hear the sound of "praise" for this vision was to show me the other aspects of praise.

Upon a closer look, the Column of golden smoke had perhaps millions of millions of shining stings that encompassed the whole of the column of incense.  I realized millions of saints from everywhere--underground churches in China, to Tibetan Christians to African believers to me and our church were mingled together to form this incredibly "pure" praise--the very essence of praise.  It was so lovely.  So "pure" in it's nature.  I say "purest" praise, because half-hearted or selfish natured praise is not included in the golden incense.  God knows the heart, and He who judges the heart discerns the color of our praise.

I then realized why there is power in praise--it's a force of God in combination with ourselves!  God says that He Himself will inhabit the praises of His people, and His essence is there also when we praise him in purest praise (Psalms 22:3).  Demons hate it and flee from it, only men and women of God can give it, and God Himself indwells it---it's the praise of the redeemed saints of God.  Angelic praise is not included in the golden incense--only the praise and worship of His grateful redeemed Sons and daughters on Earth and in Heaven.  That is a privilege reserved only for us and something only we can give God.  The colors of praise from the angels is a different color--purple maybe, and the color of praise from the created universe and from God's creation is a different color--green, perhaps.

Subsequently, I also had a revelation of the power of praise and worship and intercession.  Have you ever wondered what happens when you pray or worship God?  Why does burdens ease, and why do demons flee?  Praise isn't just sound---it's powerful for both a weapon and a shield.  Every form of praise and intercession has a different color and sound and shape and movement and volume and function.  When you weep or you dance, it's like like the force of an explosive weapon against the Devil.  Demons often KNOW when the church is praising, but often don't know where it is coming from specifically.  It's incredibly disrupting for them everywhere!  This is why it says in the Bible that one can put a thousand to flight, and two can send a legion fleeing, spiritually speaking.

One form of worship that was particularly powerful was "dance"-- it's like wave after wave of power emanating out from the dancer into the spiritual realm.  The reality of this world is not what we can see or hear ourselves, as the unseen is the eternal and more "real" part of our universe.  Only the victorious dance--think about that!  When you dance before the Lord in purity, innocence, and a sincerely loving and grateful heart--it sends out wave after wave of power into the unseen spiritual realm.  You're dancing in spiritual victory and in the power of praise!  Weeping and repentace are like sharp arrows that can pierce the strongest of demonic defenses.  Praise is a form of prayer, and the Bible says that the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.  Likewise, speaking in tongues is unhindered worship and intercession and is powerful and forceful beyond our abilities to understand in the natural realm.

I will let you know one of my deepest desires and the purest longing of my human heart----I've had recurring desire and daydream that when I get to heaven, I want to worship for 10,000 years (over and over and over again).  God has gifted me with a very lovely voice on earth, but it's just a prelude to the eternal kingdom.  I've seen it in my spirit where we sing united for 10,000 years again again without ceasing, and then silence, and then one voice in a hundred million million starts again "worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb" and then a hundred million million voices start all over again!  My friend who cannot sing well once stated that he loved my beautiful voice, and instantly the Lord told me "In the spiritual realm, everyone has a perfect voice."  That is why the Bible says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord--it's perfect in God's ears in the golden incense.  Everyone that cannot sing well here on Earth will have absolute "Heavenly" voices in Heaven--and even NOW in God's ears.  In heaven, you will be litterally perfect in every way.  God always looks at the heart, not the outward abilities like man does.

The color of purest praise is gold--the most lovely and most radiant color I've ever seen.  It's lovely, and God Himself loves it also.  The most ironic thing about this vision is that it was given to a man who is colorblind!  I can see some "color" but it's not true color like most of you can see, but  when I get to Heaven I will see color like never before seen on Earth!  Nonetheless I'm quite sure I will love the color of purest praise the most.

HERE'S THE SECOND COMPILED THOUGHT ON SPIRITUAL WARFARE:  RESPOND IMMEDIATELY TO THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

The key to being spiritual prepared  for "battle" and spiritual warfare is IMMEDIATE obedience to the Holy Spirit.  Jesus said that His sheep know is voice, and will NOT follow another.  Literally, in the Middle East the shepherds have sheep that they call my name.  The sheep are put all together in a group when they graze, but when it's time to leave or go home, then each shepherd will say, "Margret!" and Marget comes.  "Gillian!"  and Gillian comes.  "Bobby Jo!"  and Bobby Jo comes!  "Big Ram!"  and the ram comes.  They sort their sheep by voice this way until all the sheep are with the correct shepherd.  The sheep literally know their shepherd's voice and will certainly not follow another even if he or she says, "Yo!  Margret!  Get your little woolly behind over here right now!"  Margret will not come.  Ironically, even if you say her name sweetly and kindly, if you are not the shepherd, she still will not listen!  This is where God's protection and discernment comes into play, as Satan, as the Word says, can appear as an "angel of light" and this includes having a beautiful and lovely "voice" when needed that fools millions that don't know the Their Shepherd's voice!

So, Jesus was using a very well known thing at the time to demonstrate his point when he said that His sheep know His voice and they won't follow another (the devil).  So,  when God tells you to "Stop!"  Then stop immediately.  "Or hide!" Or "Attack now!  Harder!  Deeper!"  whatever.  You get the picture.  The key is to immediately obey when you hear His voice and you will be safely where you are supposed to be.  God loves the prepared-yet-dependent-upon-Him servants the best.  You're right!  You can't wage spiritual warfare against the devil, but He can!  Just obey what He asks you to do, whether small or great.

God gave me insight into spiritual warfare one time.  I got the visual image of demonic forces so angry and upset that they were under attack, but they couldn't tell from where or from whom.  They were confused, angry and disoriented.  I understood that to mean that when you pray, God quite often covers you with "hiddenness" from the enemy to some extent so that the enemy doesn't immediately know where the prayers are coming from.  To what extent this is true, I'm not sure, but I believe it's true.  Also, I read a story where the intercessor or the pastor's house was so thoroughly covered by angels above, and to the sides and even below, that even if the demons knew who was their "enemy" praying against them, they couldn't touch him or that which belonged to him (see the Book of Job and the hedge about him for reference.

One last insight:  Demons are NOT united.  God's angels and God's true servants ARE united.  Even if you have a spiritual attack upon your family, I think that sometimes it's just the ordinary run-of-the-mill things that the enemy tries on everyone.  Just believe that you're "hidden" from his sight as far as "secret missions" in intercession are concerned.  Just like you wouldn't think the grandmother at the supermarket might be a secret agent for some foregin country, so too, I think the Devil just doesn't "Get it" and overlooks some of the biggest threats because God is protecting them.

But, on the other hand, I personally talked to a man who had come out of Occultism and he said that he could instantly tell a Christian because of the power they held within them, but they Christians themselves knew not how to use that power.  Those people he did fear or worry about.  It was the ones that had at least a little knowledge how to use that authority in Christ that he feared.

So, the enemy knows when we're praying or that someone is pray, and knows a true Christian when he sees one, but if he doesn't perceive the immediate threat, then that's what we're after.  No glory, just effectiveness in prayer!  When he does get a clue, then we trust in God's protection at that point also.  That is when we need to hear God's voice when He says, "Run!  Or Stop!  or Don't move!  or Stand firm!" rather than "Attack".  Obedience is the key.  Cultivate immediate obedience to God's voice.

THE THIRD COMPILED THOUGHT ON SPIRITUAL WARFARE IS:  PRAY FOR YOURSELF, YOUR WIFE, YOUR CHILDREN, AND YOUR FAMILY ALSO FOR ADDED PROTECTION WHILE INTERCEEDING FOR OTHERS!

Also, be sure to pray for your own protection and the protection of your loved ones to be covered by God's protection, because whenever there is high level intercession happening, there there is high level resistance from Satan's forces.  It's just the way it is.  Remember that Michael the Archangel said he had to withstand the prince of Persia for 21 days before victory was won, while Daniel prayed fervently during that time.  Also, I seem to remember Daniel mentioning that he suffered some health issues as well, perhaps from his frequent intercession.  So, be wise and keep yourself and your family covered as much as possible as you intercede for "big" things!  I speak from personal experience.  Trust me.  Keep yourself and your family covered in prayer and righteousness as much as possible, and then you can also intercede for others, because if the enemy can get you to stop praying by attacking your family or your family's health, then that is exactly what he will try and do.  Cover your children, especially in prayer before, during, and after you intercede for others!
