A True Mystery: Who was Praying for Us? (A Visitation)

Postby Charles-and-Ness » August 10th, 2012, 10:22 am

Hello all.

I have a true mystery that I need help solving Biblically (not just with guessing). Last night when I was watching the Olympics all night long, my wife told me that a man was in our bedroom praying intently. (actually where I sleep, in fact). She thought it was me (on my cot), but she felt that was rather uncharacteristic of me and then went back to bed.

She woke up again and perceived it wasn't me praying. She could hear the man praying sincerely and fervently and there was just enough light to see that no one was there. She couldn't understand what was being prayed. she looked at the clock. It was 2 in the morning. I was downstairs watching thy Olympics until dawn (literally), so no man came in or out of the house. It was a male not a female person.

She's very convinced it wasn't a dream, but she had no fear, so it wasn't an evil presence. She said it was for an extended period of time.

Who was it? Why were they praying for us? Was it a real person (human spirit, angel, Holy Spirit, etc.) or a vision? Real or a metaphore? and What should we do about it?

This is a true mystery I'd like help finding an answer to in a Biblical mannor with supporting Scripture if possible. Thanks! Before I tell you what Ness thinks, I wanted to have some input. She's not certain either. Thanks!

The Buffington Family.

Charles, can you send that fervent praying man over to my house?

Sometimes things simply have no explanation ... this could be one
of them. However, as far as a scriptural answer I am not aware of
one.

Scriptures tells us that Jesus makes intercession for us and that angels are ministering messengers. Could be either one, I think.

Remember all of the angels you saw around me? I'll be interested to hear what you guys think. I love the fact though, that Ness felt no fear so we know it was for good.

Where's jackie's thoughts?

I have to conclude first that my wife is first, telling the truth, and secondly, not mistaken, dreaming, or crazy in order to proceed. She doesn't lie. She's not crazy. And she says she wasn't dreaming (I asked twice). She is a very light sleeper. She gets up with every dog bark, etc.

As far as angels as minsitering spirits, I think that means they "serve" in the capacity they are instucted to do so (protection, messages, comfort, music ministry).

I even saw a vision of angels annointing a speaker once with a HUGE golden vessel of oil. The gold was transparent, but I knew it was pure gold about the size of a Korean kimchi pot. Only a fraction of the oil available was actually being pour out, however. The angels were about 10 feet tall and I couldn't see their faces but one had on a blue sash that said "RESTORATION" and I forgot the other other one. It wasn't that I was forbidden to see their face as I asked and I saw one look up, but I realized they were of such a humble nature that to be able to see their face was not the purpose of being able to see the angels of restoration on this particular couples ministry. But, even seeing angels in a vision this way is not the norm. I don't think angels interceed in prayer for us. That's not part of thier given purpose of God (that's ours for others) nor can I find any Biblical example of them praying FOR us in intercession. Can anyone else?

Ness thinks is was Christ Himself. There does seem to be a Scripture that says that Christ interceeds on our behalf (I need to look it up), but I always interpreted that to mean something less than actual fervently praying for his children (us). I always thought it meant that He was our advocate in the sense that he would say, "Yes, these are my mine, Father." etc. It changed my understanding of what Christ is doing now in Heaven. I know he interceeded for His followers when on Earth, but now? I'm surprised. I always picture him as The King on His Throne, not the Intercessor on His Knees.

After thinking about it, I thought, "How could he do such for each person on earth?" But then I was reminded of a vision by my friend Rebecca, years ago, where she was in the Rapture and she met Jesus, and she hugged him and He hugged her, and she thought, "Oh, how selfish of me! There are millions that need Your hug too, but I'm taking so much time with You!" She turn around to see that all the millions of millions of the redeemed each had a "Jesus" whom they were hugging too.

I then thought about a scientist that was a faithful man and he explained that the speed of an electron in a tiny atom is so fast that, if released, could circle the Earth multiple hundreds of times in just a fraction of second. He then postulated that the creator of the atom and the electron had to have a greater ability to "travel" than the electron. Humans can harness and start reactions faster than our speed (such as firing a bullet), but we cannot create the energy that makes them. God can. He could indeed be with each person on Earth vertually simultaniously of every second of every day if such was his speed of travel. Does the Bible actually say He is omnipresent in some aspect? I know that is a standard doctrine of the Church.

So, as strange as it seems, I think my wife is right; it was Christ Himself interceeding for our family.

Now the reason is "Why" was she allowed to see such? And I want to know what was being interceeded for? I have no firm answers there, other than the fact I've had a few years of faith-crisis and I very uncertain future.

What do you think Jackie? I would like to hear form you the most in fact.

With love and faith,

The Buffingtons
