How BIG Is Our God

GalaxyClaudia and I were talking On The Air a couple days ago about the word we use almost flippantly: Lord. We use it in conjunction with the Name of Yeshua (Jesus), as if it is His first name.

In actuality, it is a TITLE, not a name, and it has GREAT significance for us: Lord Yeshua (Jesus) the Christ.

As in a man who is a Lord, you might say, “John Byington, Lord of FriendlyGalaxy 2 Manor”. That means everyone living in Friendly Manor looks to John Byington for their jobs, their food, their leadership, their clothing, their sustenance … everything having to do with their daily lives. When Lord Byington passes by, people bow, showing their respect. When they have needs, they come to Lord Byington and talk with him. Sometimes Lord Byington will say “Yes”, and other times he will say “No”. As Lord, he knows things the people don’t know, and he knows what is best for his people.

That is what it means to say: “Jesus the Christ, Lord of Heaven and Earth”. There is no need to strike out on our own. Yeshua (Jesus) is Lord of where we live, and therefore is responsible for our daily lives.

Here is the definition as the dictionary gives it. Muse on this awhile: LORD…Galaxy 3

1. a person who has authority, control, or power over others; a master, chief, or ruler.
2. a person who exercises authority from property rights; an owner of land, houses, etc.
3. a person who is a leader or has great influence in a chosen profession: the great lords of banking.
4. a feudal superior; the proprietor of a manor.
5. a titled nobleman or peer; a person whose ordinary appellation contains by courtesy the title Lord or some higher title.

It’s a humbling experience, when we acknowlege, that we are
under the authority and leadership of our Lord and Master, the
Creator of Heaven and Earth. Jesus Christ, is indeed Lord and
    Savior, of our lives!

Thank you for sharing this delightful insight.
