Trip To The Outer Banks, North Carolina

Claudia and I haven’t been able to travel for several years. Her pain has been too intense to sit in the car for very long. I know it sounds strange, but the fact is Connie and Casey sent a Jewish Prayer Shawl to us that they had prayed over. They instructed us to lay it on Claudia and pray for her healing. We did so, and ever since that time Claudia has experienced a much greater amount of relief in her pain. She has been able to sit in the car for greater amounts of time.

Sooooo, we decided to do something we have wanted to do for 4 1/2 years – travel to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was a quick trip, going on a Saturday and returning on Sunday, but we had a WONDERFUL time. We saw three of the 7 lighthouses on the Outer Banks, including the world famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, we rode on the ferry that connects Ocracoke Island with Hatteras Island, and we walked in the sugar sand of the Outer Banks sea shore.

The area is ripe with American History. We walked on the grounds where Sir Walter Raleigh landed on Roanoke Island and established a settlement in 1587. You could almost hear the whispers of those who had walked, worked and died trying to start a new life in a New World. We traveled to Ocracoke where Blackbeard the Pirate was captured and killed by the British Captain Maynard in 1718.

We love knowing the history and walking the grounds where it all took place. I thought I would share some of the pics of our trip with you.
