Casey & The Cross In New York City

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009 at 11:16 am

Here is the latest note from Casey & Connie. Please keep them in prayer, as they take the cross to 34th and Broadway in New York City. They are on the Front Lines of the battle, and they need our prayers and protection.

July 20th, at 34th and Broadway, in New York City.

A lady from China, asked me if she would go to hell, if she got divorced?  I shared with her,”Jesus loves you so deep and strongly, He would never turn His back on you, because of a failed marriage.”  As we prayed together, her tears began to flow. Her precious little daughter was saying, “ma ma whyCopy of Scan0002_002_002 are you crying?”  She left with a new desire to seek the Lord, on His direction for her life.

Shortly thereafter, a gay guy, starts a conversation with me.  He said he was an atheist, and had no hope of any afterlife, once he died.  I shared, “What if there is a God, and He desires to love you, and have an eternal relationship with you?”  Then he went on a side track about his organic garden, and his pet praying mantis.  So we talked about gardening for a bit, and bugs.  The Spirit wanted the conversation to continue, to keep the door open.  So, we talked gardening for awhile; just like Jesus talked about water, with the woman at the well. He began to realize, Christians are real and can be nice.  We ended up talking about the Lord, and why He went to the cross for him.  He left, smiling and thanking me for talking to him.  I know a seed was planted, Praise the Lord!

A bit later, a man with broken English (he was Russian) asked me, what I was doing? Then he starts asking me some biblical questions, like, “when will Jesus return?”  I shared the gospel, and he graciously received it.  He took a tract, promised to read it.

A woman walks by, struggling to walk, using a cane.  I felt led to extend my Bible, and pray for her.  Immediately she picks up her cane, and starts to walk normal.  She disappears into the crowd, before I could talk to her.  Well praise the Lord, thanks Jesus for touching her.

After this, there were encounters with a CEO, a bag lady, a taxi driver, and many tourists.  The harvest is so white.  All we have to do, is shake the tree a little, and the ripe ones fall into the lap of the Lord.  Jesus wishes no one would perish.

With love, may we toss the life preservers of His life giving message.  They are so ready for His hope and healing.  Praise the Lord, Jesus is Good News for them!

Blessings abundant, from Casey in New York City.

Trip To The Outer Banks, North Carolina

Thursday, July 16th, 2009 at 12:06 pm

Claudia and I haven’t been able to travel for several years. Her pain has been too intense to sit in the car for very long. I know it sounds strange, but the fact is Connie and Casey sent a Jewish Prayer Shawl to us that they had prayed over. They instructed us to lay it on Claudia and pray for her healing. We did so, and ever since that time Claudia has experienced a much greater amount of relief in her pain. She has been able to sit in the car for greater amounts of time.

Sooooo, we decided to do something we have wanted to do for 4 1/2 years – travel to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was a quick trip, going on a Saturday and returning on Sunday, but we had a WONDERFUL time. We saw three of the 7 lighthouses on the Outer Banks, including the world famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, we rode on the ferry that connects Ocracoke Island with Hatteras Island, and we walked in the sugar sand of the Outer Banks sea shore.

The area is ripe with American History. We walked on the grounds where Sir Walter Raleigh landed on Roanoke Island and established a settlement in 1587. You could almost hear the whispers of those who had walked, worked and died trying to start a new life in a New World. We traveled to Ocracoke where Blackbeard the Pirate was captured and killed by the British Captain Maynard in 1718.

We love knowing the history and walking the grounds where it all took place. I thought I would share some of the pics of our trip with you.

John Lennon Reaches Out To Oral Roberts

Monday, July 13th, 2009 at 5:40 pm

You will NEVER hear this in the main stream media.

The following is an interesting insight into the life of John Lennon of the Beatles. It is written by David Reagan, President of Lamb and Lion Ministries.

Message From David Reagan of Lamb & Lion Ministries

In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine voted John Lennon’s song, “Imagine,” the third greatest song of all times. Former president Jimmy Carter observed that “in many countries around the world… you hear John Lennon’s song, ‘Imagine,’ used almost equally with national anthems.”
John Lennon
Behind “Imagine”

In the book, Lennon in America, by Geoffrey Giuliano, Lennon is quoted as saying that the song is “an anti-religious, anti-nationalist, anti-conventional, anti-capitalist song, but because it’s sugar-coated, it’s accepted.” Lennon also described the song as “virtually the Communist Manifesto.”

Lennon’s characterization of the song is very accurate. It begins with an atheistic rejection of God: “Imagine there’s no heaven / It’s easy if you try / No hell below us / Above us only sky / Imagine all the people / Living for today.”

Having dispensed with God, Lennon then proceeds to wash his hands of religion and nationalism: “Imagine there’s no countries / It isn’t hard to do / Nothing to kill or die for / And no religion too / Imagine all the people / Living life in peace.”

Lennon concludes the song with an attack on capitalism and an affirmation of the socialist-communist ideal: “Imagine no possessions / I wonder if you can / No need for greed or hunger / a brotherhood of man / Imagine all the people / Sharing all the world.”

Understandably, the chorus of the song calls for a one world government: “You may say I’m a dreamer / But I’m not the only one / I hope someday you’ll join us / And the world will live as one.”

Lennon’s Despair

Lennon wrote this song in 1971. Two years later, he wrote a remarkable letter to the Christian evangelist, Oral Roberts. The letter was prompted by the fact that Lennon’s cousin had asked Roberts to pray for John and Yoko, and he had agreed to do so. Lennon’s letter was handwritten and rambling. In it he revealed that the philosophy expressed in his famous song had left him empty, fearful and suicidal:

“Rev. Roberts:
This is ex-Beatle, John Lennon. I’ve been wanting to write you, but I guess I didn’t really want to face reality. I never do this, this is why I take drugs. Reality frightens me and paranoids me. True, I have a lot of money… but basically, I’m afraid to face the problems of life. Let me begin to say, I regret that I said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. I don’t even like myself anymore — guilt.”

Lennon proceeded to tell Roberts his life story. He emphasized his unhappy childhood. He told about his mom dying when he was an infant and how his father deserted him at age 3, leaving him to be raised by an aunt. He talked about how he wanted to kill his father after he became successful and his dad came to him and requested money. He mentioned a song that he and Paul McCartney had written called, “Money Can’t Buy Me Love,” and he said he had discovered the truth of that statement.

He ended the letter with a cry of despair:

“I want happiness. I don’t want to keep up with drugs… Explain to me what Christianity can do for me. Is it phoney? Can He love me? I want out of Hell.”

He then added a P.S. that read:

“I am, I hate to say, under the influence of pills now. I can’t stop. I only wish I could thank you for caring.”

Lennon had already expressed his despair publicly in 1968 in his song, “I’m So Tired.” It was written at the height of the Beatles’ popularity, creativity and wealth. In the song, Lennon expressed the emptiness of his “successful” and wealthy life with these words: “I’d give you everything I’ve got for a little peace of mind.”

The best response to Lennon’s despair can be found in Philippians 4:6-7Philippians 4:6-7

In The Shadow of the Empire State Building

Sunday, July 5th, 2009 at 5:31 pm

Connie and Casey are very precious to Claudia and me. We love them, and continue praying for their most important work on the streets of New York City on 34th and Broadway. Here is his latest news.

Please keep them in prayer with Claudia and me.

Pat and Claudia, Yaaaaa we just got our internet up and running, Glory Glory!Cross 02
Went to NYC yesterday. So funny, each day has a certain theme of activity. Last week it was people wanting prayer. Yesterday, Wednesday it was encourage believers day. Many downtrodden believers just needed His promises, that God was mighty for them.

Today, it was warfare day. For example, this fella walked up to me and began to vent all his hostility towards the church, out on me. I try to always let the Holy Spirit lead, and the Spirit moved me to not respond to him, but flamboyantly praise JESUS. The more He harassed me the louder I got. Which caused the crowds to take more of a listen. This fella left and returned a dozen timess and each time a little more hostile. So now I am passionately fired up and blazed in full preaching and praising the glorious beauties of the Lord. He finally left, and the Lord turned it into 30 minutes of hallelujahs :) .

Next, a Lesbian attacks with ugly words and a raised finger in my face. I shouted back, “Lady get on your knees in repentance. Today it’s time to get right with God.” Well she never did, but I know that I know, the words, “today it’s time to get right with God” stuck and she’ll never forget it, (until she gets saved). O the hound dogs of Heaven will be on her trail!

Each time is so exciting to see what God does. Also today, someone stole my music walkman. I just pray the worship tape that was in the walkman, causes them to find JESUS.

Well I’m pretty tired so, off to bed. The books of Acts alive in NYC, never boring.

Love from Case & Con.
